Tuning Package Service Definitions
“As received” measurements - the measurements of poundage, draw length, brace height, tiller, center shot, nock height, and other key details when the bow arrives to us.
Bow Force Mapper – a tool developed by Easton Archery that is used to analyze the draw curve of the bow to evaluate issues in the draw cycle that can affect performance.
Creep Tune – the bow is fired from different points in the valley of the draw cycle to evaluate any changes that can be made to allow for maximum forgiveness of the equipment.
French Tune – a bow is fired at approx 3 yards then again at 50+ yards. The bow should group the arrows in the same vertical spot. If not adjustments are made to the rest until the desired results are met.
Group Tune – each arrow is numbered and shot using the Hooter Shooter. Adjustments are made to the index of the arrow to bring the arrows into the tightest possible group (sometimes the exact same hole).
Hooter Shooter – a incredible tuning aid that take the human element out of the equipment and allows us to tune the bow with no human factors affecting the bow.
Indexing Arrows – every arrow has a thick or “high side” of the spine. Finding this spine area is critical to maximizing both accuracy and forgiveness in the shot. The area is identified and marked so the arrows can be appropriately fletched or tuned. We have found certain cam systems like the “high side” located in a certain orientation to give the best performance.
Original Factory Specs – the key measurements and specs as provided by the manufacturer of the equipment (when available)
Paper Tune – the bow is shot through a sheet of paper to determine if the arrow is flying true to allow proper arrow flight and broadhead accuracy.
